Decisions about the application

I wasn't sure which science I wanted to specialise in, so natural sciences was a good course to choose.

Oxford didn't offer natural sciences

See above

It was central and quite big which I liked

Mock interview with a biology teacher

Look over your AS notes in relevant subjects

They were less intimidating than I had expected them to be. I had a general interview with an admissions tutor and then a biology interview with two biology tutors.

In the general interview I was asked about why I had chosen natural sciences, what I liked about the college, what extra curricular acitivies I did etc etc.

In the biology interview I was asked to solve some genetics problems, answer questions about some images of cells under a microscope and was also asked some questions about two of the senses (hearing and vision)

I wore some trousers and a shirt, didn't bother with a suit or anything like that.

It was really nice, everyone I met was friendly and the architecture is amazing.

They seemed friendly and tried to put you at ease during the interviews.

Final stage

I was nervous and the letter seemed to take forever to arrive!

The letter was really small and I assumed that it was a rejection. When I opened it to see that it was an offer I was really excited and rang up friends/family etc.

Looking back

Read your AS notes and try not to get too nervous during the interviews!
