Decisions about the application

The desire to gain engineering knowledge, attractive course structure and tutorial system. I believe that a good engineering degree can give me a chance to gain both substantial knowledge and necessary analytical skills.

They have similar engineering course structure, so I chose the one which is "easier" for me to get in. Oxford has plenty of past paper for pre-interview test (PAT), Cambridge doesn't. Secondly, I used to study in Oxford city for one year and I prefer to live and study in a city like Oxford.

I am fascinated by technology (the application side of science), which is what engineers do. They change the world to suit our needs. This course allows me choose specified engineering course at the start of third year after decent two-year study. At that time, it would be clear that which specified I would be willing to focus on.

LMH has plenty of space and locate in a quite place which is my favorite.

I prepared PAT on my own, but my school give me plenty of mock interviews for preparation, which is extremely useful.

Work hard on PAT preparation, available past papers are a big advantage. Go to physics and math tutor to find PAT past parts and go to https://oxfordpat.wordpress.com/ for PAT mark scheme. It would also useful to do some PAT pp if you applied for Cambridge engineering.

I had two interviews from LMH and Brasenose College. Both interview have two interviewers. One of them tends to write more notes about your answers and comments while the other one asking questions and guide you through the problems.

Buckling (which I talked about in my ps), energy transfer in collision between cars and spring and speed of cars, integration (by parts), matrices, mathematical prove of Kirchhoff's first law.

Casual dress.
Sweater, jeans and casual shirt under sweater

Big, dirty kitchen, extremely big rooms and looks nice from outside but old from inside

Big rooms, about half of rooms are ensuite. All single rooms.

Pretty good.

Final stage

I wasn't too worried, cuz imperial is also a very good place to study engineering. Gaining substantial knowledge is the most important thing to me, I don't care which unis I get in as long as they have a good course.

Looking back

That's the hardest thing I've ever done, so maybe not

Go to I want to study engineering website to do some interview style questions, they help you to think like a engineers instead of a A-level student.
